POPCORN POSTER®

About this XXL (1997) Poster

This is the poster for the film that somehow managed to blend Jewish family drama, Holocaust remembrance, Parisian fashion boutiques, and a love triangle involving Gérard Depardieu into one gloriously unhinged 1997 French-Yiddish comedy. It's the cinematic equivalent of a three-course meal where every course surprises you. Own the chaos.

Aluminum > Wood Frames (Like Berrebi > Bourdalou)

Those wooden frames everyone's Instagram-bragging about? Dust traps. Warping disasters. They age about as well as a 1997 comedy's soundtrack. Aluminum frames, though? They're the sophisticated cousin who actually knows what they're doing. Premium aluminum means zero warping, zero bowing, zero 'why does my poster look sadder than the funeral in Auvergne?' Your XXL (1997) poster deserves a frame that won't betray it. Aluminum comes in black, silver, or natural finishes that let the poster be the star. It's durable. It's elegant. It doesn't require therapy.

Xxl (1997)

Thicker Than Alain Berrebi's Romantic Complications

Listen, we could bore you with specs, but let's be real: this poster is printed on 240 g/m² glossy paper that feels more substantial than Alain's entire business plan. That's museum-quality weight, the kind of stock that makes your walls jealous of your taste. The glossy finish means colors pop harder than Michel Boujenah's Tunisian charm offensive. Blacks go deeper than the dark secrets David Stern carried from WWII. This isn't paper you accidentally spill coffee on and forget about. This is the poster equivalent of investing in your apartment's personality. It arrives flat, ready to frame, and covered in protective packaging because we actually respect what you're buying.

🎬 Why this XXL (1997) Poster is the Real Deal 🤩

XXL (1997) isn't just a film-it's a revelation wrapped in Parisian fashion, Holocaust remembrance, and Gérard Depardieu's inexplicable magnetism. Directed by Ariel Zeitoun and featuring an ensemble cast including Michel Boujenah, Elsa Zylberstein, and Gina Lollobrigida, this French-Yiddish language comedy-romance has quietly become the ultimate collector's item for cinephiles who appreciate films that refuse to fit into neat boxes.

The narrative weaves together the story of Tunisian-Jewish businessman Alain Berrebi's pursuit of Ashkenazi princess Arlette Stern, the resurrection of Holocaust trauma when a rural peasant who once sheltered Arlette's father from the Nazis dies, and an unexpected romantic triangle that spirals into plans for a trendy fashion restaurant in Manhattan. It's audacious. It's weird. It's absolutely genius.

Why is this poster your must-own? Because XXL (1997) represents a specific moment in European cinema where filmmakers could still blend comedy, historical weight, family drama, and business intrigue into something that shouldn't work but absolutely does. This isn't some mass-produced blockbuster poster. This is proof you discovered something real, something cultured, something that challenges the American multiplex aesthetic.

Collectors and true film enthusiasts recognize XXL (1997) as the hidden masterpiece of 1990s French cinema. The poster becomes your personal declaration: 'I saw this first. I understood it. I got the reference when everyone else was watching mainstream drivel.' It's a conversation starter for people who actually appreciate cinema beyond algorithms and recommendations.

The technical excellence of our 240 g/m² glossy printing captures every nuance of the film's visual language-the Parisian fashion setting, the ancestral weight of history, the emotional intensity of the cast. Premium museum-quality materials ensure this poster ages like a fine wine, not like Blockbuster Video's discount bins.

This is the poster for people who understand that great cinema exists in the spaces between genres, between cultures, between the mainstream and the discovered. Own XXL (1997). Own the future classic.

🍿 Why you need a XXL (1997) poster on your wall 🤔

Let's cut through the noise: owning a XXL (1997) poster isn't about decoration. It's about proof. Proof that you've seen something the algorithm hasn't spoonfed to your brain. Proof that you appreciate cinema when it refuses to choose between being funny, profound, and completely audacious. Proof that your taste exists in the real world, not the algorithmic one.

Every time someone walks into your space and asks 'What's that poster?', you get to explain XXL (1997)-and suddenly they understand why you're the person with actual cultural radar. You're not displaying a Marvel poster that 47 million other people own. You're owning a piece of 1997 French cinema that somehow blended Holocaust remembrance, Parisian fashion, a love triangle involving Gérard Depardieu, and an unlikely restaurant venture into 110 minutes of pure, unfiltered cinema magic.

This poster says: 'I didn't just watch this film. I understood it. I recognized it. I knew it mattered before it became the underground classic it deserves to be.' That's not casual fandom. That's curation.

The visual language of XXL (1997) deserves wall space-the sophistication of Parisian settings, the emotional complexity written across the cast's faces, the visual tension between business ambition and personal desire. Our premium printing captures every detail: every subtle expression, every color grading decision, every frame composition that makes this film visually distinctive.

You're not just buying a poster. You're acquiring a personal credential. You're surrounding yourself with evidence of your excellent taste. You're making a quiet but unmistakable statement in your bedroom, office, or living room: 'I see cinema as art, not content. I appreciate complexity. I got here first.'

This is how you own your cultural moment.

📼 Stop Scrolling 🤚 Own the XXL (1997) Collector's Print: Geeky Specs & Shipping

You're holding something serious now. This isn't mass-produced wallpaper. This is a heavyweight 240 g/m² premium poster paper-the kind museums use to archive their collections for the next century. Museum-grade quality means archival pigments that don't fade, don't yellow, and don't betray your investment three years from now when you're explaining XXL (1997) to someone who actually gets it.

The paper itself is the foundation. Glossy finish means vibrant colors that pop with the intensity of a Tunisian businessman's romantic crisis. The blacks go deep-as deep as the historical weight this film carries. The whites stay bright. Every color in the Parisian fashion photography stays saturated, stays alive, stays relevant. This isn't your dorm room poster situation. This is professional-grade reproduction.

Now, logistics matter because we actually respect what you're buying. A4 and A3 formats arrive perfectly flat in reinforced protective packaging. Zero curls. Zero rolls that destroy the visual integrity of your print. The poster arrives ready to frame or display, no nursing required.

A2 and A1 formats (the big statements) come carefully rolled in heavy-duty tubes-professional museum-quality protection that ensures maximum durability during transit. We're not throwing your poster in a mailer with hope and prayers. This arrives as intended: pristine, protected, ready for immediate framing.

Every format is ready to be framed instantly. No drying time. No settling period. Take it out, frame it, own it. The 240 g/m² weight means it hangs beautifully-no warping, no buckling, no 'why does my expensive poster look sad?' scenarios. This is how premium posters behave.

You're acquiring a piece of XXL (1997) history printed with the same obsessive attention to detail that Ariel Zeitoun brought to the film itself. That's not hyperbole. That's respect for the source material and respect for your taste.

🎞️ Framing the Genius: XXL (1997)'s Visual Legacy

XXL (1997) exists in the visual space where 1990s European cinema still believed in composed frames, intentional color theory, and art direction that supported narrative rather than distracted from it. This is cinematography that serves story-a principle increasingly extinct in 2026.

The film's visual language balances two distinct worlds: the Parisian Sentier district's fashion boutique environment (warm, commercial, driven) and the rural Auvergne landscape (ancestral, historical, grounded). The color palette shifts between these spaces-Parisian interiors dominated by fashion-forward tones and contemporary styling, while Auvergne sequences embrace natural, earthy tones that ground the Holocaust remembrance narrative in historical weight.

Art direction becomes thematic. Alain Berrebi's ready-to-wear boutique XL is designed to reflect contemporary success-clean lines, modern aesthetic, optimized for commercial appeal. In contrast, Jean Bourdalou's family restaurants exist in a more traditional visual space, rooted in actual culinary history rather than trend-chasing. The visual distinction between these spaces tells the film's entire ideological argument without dialogue.

Lighting choices distinguish character backgrounds. The Ashkenazi Stern family's spaces feature elegant, controlled lighting-reflecting both wealth and the reserved elegance of established Parisian society. Berrebi's Tunisian family scenes embrace warmer, more organic lighting-suggesting vitality, warmth, and different cultural traditions. It's visual anthropology masquerading as comedy.

The ensemble cast's visual presence became iconic. Gérard Depardieu's physicality dominates Auvergne sequences-he's literally bigger than the landscape, visually embodying the gravitational pull that threatens the narrative's equilibrium. Michel Boujenah's more refined visual presence in Paris contrasts sharply, creating immediate visual tension about cultural belonging and social hierarchy.

Color theory underpins emotional progression. The poster captures this-the fashion-forward tones that dominate early sequences gradually warmed by the historical and emotional resonance introduced by the peasant's death. This is sophisticated visual storytelling that respects the audience's intelligence.

👀 Did You Know? 🤯 Fun facts about XXL (1997)

XXL (1997) represents a fascinating moment when French cinema was confidently blending cultural narratives that mainstream entertainment still treats as incompatible. The film managed to honor Holocaust remembrance, celebrate contemporary fashion culture, explore Jewish identity across different geographic and cultural traditions, and maintain comedic energy throughout-a tonal feat most contemporary filmmakers wouldn't attempt.

The ensemble cast assembled for XXL (1997) brought genuine star power. Gérard Depardieu, then at the height of his international fame, played against type as Jean Bourdalou-a rural restaurateur rather than the romantic lead. Michel Boujenah, who had established himself as a sophisticated French actor, embraced the vulnerability of Alain Berrebi's romantic crisis. Elsa Zylberstein brought intensity to Arlette, making her romantic wavering feel consequential rather than frivolous. Gina Lollobrigida's presence as Gaby Berrebi added intergenerational weight-Lollobrigida was already a cinema legend, lending gravitas to the family dynamics.

The film's production occurred during a specific moment when European cinema could still secure funding for narratively complex, tonally ambitious projects that didn't fit formula. Ariel Zeitoun's direction never compromises the film's multiple intentions-it remains funny while honoring historical trauma, romantic while exploring cultural identity, commercial while respecting intelligence.

The fashion dimension isn't incidental. The ready-to-wear boutique setting allowed the film to explore contemporary identity construction-how we present ourselves visually, how fashion becomes cultural statement, how commercial success intersects with personal fulfillment. This was sophisticated observation wrapped in comedy.

XXL (1997) remains underseen outside French cinema circles, which only increases its cultural currency among people who actually discover films rather than consume them. In 2026, owning this poster signals that you're operating at a different cultural literacy level than the algorithm assumes. You saw this. You understood it. You recognized it mattered before it had trending hashtags.

🚀 Why UPS®?
Because it’s simply the fastest international carrier, with one of the best delivery services in the world. We’d rather invest in reliability than turn your delivery into a Mission: Impossible scenario.

💸 We cover a large part of the shipping costs, because our goal is simple: to offer you the best delivery service possible, wherever you are in the world, no compromises.

Yes. And not just “kind of” 😌 As soon as your order leaves our warehouse, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with a UPS® tracking link.

📦 With UPS®, you can track your poster in real time, step by step, almost like Nick Fury monitoring his agents.

📲 For tracking to work perfectly, it’s very important to double-check all your details before placing your order:

  • Complete and correct delivery address (This happens every day: missing house number, wrong country selected, incomplete street name…)
  • Valid and accessible email address
  • Correct phone number

🎬 Let’s be honest:
All we want is for your package with your awesome new poster to arrive as fast as possible, and in perfect condition.

A quick check now saves you from needing a Back to the Future-style time travel to fix a wrong address.

📧 One more important thing about email:
Please don’t use a throwaway or inaccessible email address. We won’t spam you (we’re not Skynet), but:

  • UPS® pickup codes are sent by email
  • Delivery notifications too

Without access to your inbox, there’s unfortunately nothing we can do, and your package may vanish forever, like a lost VHS tape from the 90s.

🎥 In short:
You know where your package is, when it arrives, and how to collect it, no need to play Sherlock Holmes or watch the street like Walter White behind the curtains.

🔄 What if I want to return my poster ?

We get it, even Citizen Kane didn’t please everyone.

🎨 Custom posters

Custom posters are non-returnable and non-refundable. They’re printed specifically for you, like a James Bond–tailored suit: once it’s made, it’s yours.

📦 Non-custom posters

For non-custom posters, please refer to our detailed return policy at the bottom of the page, under “Delivery Issues”. This section clearly explains return, refund, and resolution conditions.

🚚 Delivery issues (delay, lost or damaged package) If:

  • Your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated timeframe
  • Your package is lost
  • Your poster arrives damaged

👉 contact us at hello@popcornposter.com. We’ll immediately work with the carrier (UPS®) to resolve the issue.

📅 Please note:
The carrier has a formal process and timeline to declare a package as lost, 15 days after the estimated delivery date. Before that, the package is officially still “in transit”.

⏳ Delivery delays & right to a refund

The right to a refund for delivery delays only applies if the delay is not caused by force majeure or circumstances beyond the seller’s control (weather conditions, strikes, exceptional events, etc.).

According to European Directive 2011/83/EU:

  • If no fixed delivery time is specified (only an estimate),
  • The seller must deliver the order within a reasonable timeframe, typically up to 30 days from the order confirmation

If this timeframe is exceeded, the seller is granted an additional one-week period to complete the delivery.

🎬 In short:
We never leave customers without support, but we also believe in solving things calmly, without a failed-season-finale level of drama.

Orders & Payments

Orders, payments & behind-the-scenes details (The part people skip… but shouldn’t)

💳 What payment methods do you accept ?

We keep it simple and secure 🔒

We accept:

  • Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are 100% secure. Even Bruce Wayne would approve this checkout.

✏️ Can I change or cancel my order ?

Yes… and we’ve even built in a little flexibility 😌

👉 After payment, you have a 30-minute window to contact us if you’d like to:

  • Change the poster size
  • Switch the frame color
  • Upgrade from unframed to framed

Because sometimes you realize after checkout that the black frame would look way better and that’s totally fine.

⏱️ After this 30-minute window, your order enters production. At that point, changes are no longer possible, kind of like trying to rewrite a movie after the end credits.

🖼️ Good to know about delivery:

  • Framed posters arrive fully framed, ready to hang
  • Unframed posters are carefully protected in a plastic protective film
  • A4 and A3 unframed posters are shipped flat, not rolled, to prevent any deformation and ensure a perfect finish right out of the package

Our goal is simple:

to make sure your poster arrives fast, well-protected, and exactly how you imagined it, no bad surprises.

🧾 Will I receive an order confirmation and invoice ?

Absolutely 😌

After placing your order, you’ll receive:

  • An order confirmation email
  • An invoice with all details

If you don’t see it, check your spam folder (sometimes emails disappear like mail at Hogwarts).

Need a custom invoice? Just contact us.

💥 My order arrived damaged, what should I do ?

First: breathe 😌
Yes, it can happen. Even with the best carrier in the world, a delivery driver can have a bad day, be in a rush, or your package can go through a real adventure during transit.

👉 The good news:
Since working with UPS®, damaged packages are very rare.
Trust us… you don’t want to know how many emails we used to get with our previous carriers 😅

That problem is now solved thanks to:

  • Stronger protection
  • Better packaging
  • Much more reliable delivery

But let’s be real :
Packages travel for several days. They can fall, be stacked, sometimes crushed… Honestly, we should put a GoPro inside a package to see what it goes through 🎥📦

🚚 When we hand packages over to UPS®, everything is perfect :

Paolo, our UPS® driver, comes by every day with a smile, packages leave well protected and damage-free. After that… they go on their journey.

👉 If you’re part of the 1% of cases where a package arrives damaged :

It’s not a big deal. it’s annoying (we agree), and trust me:

👉 if I ordered something and received it damaged, I’d be annoyed too.

Here’s what to do calmly 👇

  1. Take a photo of the package
  2. Take a photo of the poster
  3. Email us at hello@popcornposter.com

(with your order number, ex. #1001)

📩 Important - Customer support :
Our customer service is handled exclusively by email.

🙅‍♂️ Not via Instagram

🙅‍♂️ Not via TikTok

🙅‍♂️ And unfortunately… not by owls either ⚡🦉

Why ? Because email allows us to :

  • Properly track your case
  • Keep all information in one place
  • Respond quickly and efficiently

📬 Marion checks emails every single day and replies to everyone.

If we have all the required info, within 24 hours, we’ll find a solution together, fast, and one that works for you.

🙏 Friendly advice :

  • Please avoid ALL CAPS emails
  • Avoid aggressive or entitled tones

Otherwise Marion gets angry… and I have to deal with her being angry all day 😡😅

Nobody wins.

If Marion solved your issue (and trust us, she really solves them all), please consider leaving a Trustpilot review mentioning her name: Marion isn’t ChatGPT, she reads every review, and she’ll absolutely love seeing her name mentioned with positive feedback 👀😇

🎬 Bottom line :

We ship dozens of packages every day, we do everything we can to make sure everything arrives perfectly, and when something goes wrong, we own it and fix it.

Simple, human, efficient. 🫶

❓ I haven’t received my order, what should I do?

First things first, something very important 👇 (No panic, this isn’t an episode of Lost.)

👉 Make sure you entered complete and accurate contact details when placing your order:

  • Correct delivery address
  • Valid email address
  • Phone number

Without this information, even the best carrier in the world can’t work miracles.

📦 All orders are tracked via UPS®, and the tracking is (truly) extremely precise.

🎬 A quick look at your package’s journey:

  • As soon as we create your shipping label and attach it to the package → Bam, email
  • Every day around 12 PM, Paolo, our awesome UPS® driver, comes by to collect the parcels
  • Before your package even enters his super truck, Paolo scans each parcel one by oneBam, email
  • When he drops your package at the UPS® logistics hub for proper routing → Quick scan, Bam email

👉 Result: you receive an email at every single movement of your package. Your poster is tracked more closely than a main character in a TV series.

🖨️ Important note for custom posters:

Custom posters may require up to 24 additional hours of processing, depending on demand. Why ?

Because this one isn’t in stock, we create it ourselves, specifically for you. Nothing to worry about, it may just take a little longer, and that’s completely normal.

Now, real-world shipping reality :

Delays can happen (weather conditions, logistics issues, unexpected events). It’s not common, but it happens.

👉 We only really start worrying after 7 business days (excluding weekends).

If that timeframe is exceeded, contact us and we’ll immediately open an investigation with UPS®.

🎬 Bottom line:
We never leave a customer without a solution, but we also avoid jumping to conclusions like a Netflix thriller after 10 minutes.

If you’re really worried about where your order might be hiding, send us an email at hello@popcornposter.com and Marion will take care of the investigation with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Machine 🕵️‍♂️🚐🍿

About Our Products

This is where we answer all the questions your brain asks while staring at a poster thinking : “Okay… but is it really that cool in real life?” Spoiler: it is.

🍿 What kind of posters do you sell ?

At Popcorn Poster, we don’t do “a bit of home decor.” We do cinema. A lot of cinema. Probably too much cinema. 🎬🍿

More specifically, our catalog includes thousands of movie and TV series posters, in multiple languages, sourced from cinemas all around the world.

Yes ! we’re talking about one of the largest movie poster catalogs in the world. And no, we’re not just saying that for fun (okay… maybe a little).

You’ll find posters from:

  • 🎥 cult movies you can quote by heart
  • 🏛️ timeless classics you deeply respect
  • 🚀 recent films that blew your mind
  • 📺 iconic TV series you binge-watched “just one episode”… until sunrise

And most importantly : 👉 in multiple languages, because cinema has never spoken just one.

🎞️ Where do our posters come from?

Our posters can be:

  • Original cinema posters, used in theaters around the world
  • Or high-quality reprints, when the original isn’t available in the size you choose

Either way, we’re obsessive about quality, so the final result looks amazing on your wall, not just accurate on paper.

🎬 What if I can’t find the movie or series of my dreams?

That’s exactly why we created CHOOSE YOUR MOVIE 🕶️ If you can’t find what you’re looking for :

  1. Simply type the movie or TV show name
  2. Choose the size
  3. And we take care of the rest

👉 No endless searching

👉 No comparing random websites

👉 No DIY headaches

You choose.

We print.

You receive your poster.

🎥 In short:

Popcorn Poster means:

  • A massive catalog
  • Worldwide cinema
  • Thousands of references
  • And the certainty that even if you don’t see it right away…

    👉 your movie exists here.
🖨️ Is the print quality actually that good ?

Let’s be honest right from the start :

👉 these are probably the worst posters of all time. Blurry, poorly printed, dull colors… Basically, the kind of quality you’d expect from a movie filmed on a phone in the back row of a cinema in 2004.

Okay, obviously not 😄 If that were true, we’d be selling bootleg DVDs in a parking lot.

🎬 Let’s get serious (but not too serious)

Our posters are designed to last, not just look good in an Instagram story.

🖨️ For reprinted posters (when the original isn’t available in your chosen size) :

  • We use eco-friendly, long-lasting, high-quality inks
  • Resistant to time and light
  • To avoid the “yellowing poster after a few months” effect

📄 The paper:

  • 240g museum-grade paper
  • Thick, premium feel
  • Elegant matte finish

Definitely not thin paper that wrinkles if you breathe near it.

🖼️ The frames:

  • Made of aluminum
  • Lightweight once on the wall
  • Won’t warp
  • Won’t lose color over time
  • Impressive lifespan

The kind of frame you hang, forget about, and still looks perfect years later.

🎞️ One important (and honest) thing to know

As you might expect :

👉 The older the movie, the more the print quality depends on the original source.

A movie poster from the 1970s:

  • Won’t always look ultra-sharp 4K
  • And that’s completely normal

It’s like watching The Godfather: Not Dolby Vision 2025, but that’s exactly part of its charm.

🎬 Bottom line:

Our posters are:

  • Carefully printed
  • Made with premium materials
  • Designed to last
  • And respectful of cinema history

Not a tired VHS, not fake overhyped 4K, but an honest, cinematic result, as it should be.

🖼️ Are the frames high quality ?

Let’s start with the truth: 👉 of course not.
We love wasting time, money, and energy selling terrible frames.

Okay, obviously no 😄 If that were the case, we’d do what everyone else does: cheap, fragile frames and “good luck assembling it yourself.”

🎬 A true story

At first, we used wooden frames. On paper, they looked nice. In real life? Not so much.

👉 Once on the wall, they warped over time.

👉 And during shipping… they could literally break apart.

So we made a simple decision:

🛑 stop using wood

✅ switch to aluminum

🖼️ Why aluminum?

Because:

  • It’s lightweight (no Final Destination moment for your wall)
  • It doesn’t warp
  • It doesn’t yellow
  • It keeps its color for years
  • And has an impressive lifespan

🎬 In short:

frames built to last longer than most movie trilogies.

🛠️ And most importantly… no IKEA-style assembly

When you order a framed poster from Popcorn Poster,

👉 it arrives already framed, ready to hang.

Not like:

  • Some poster sellers
  • Or an IKEA piece you assemble on a Sunday night with one screw left over

We do the work for you.

🎨 What we actually do (and yes, it takes time)

  • We select the frame (black, chrome, white…)
  • Carefully place the poster inside
  • Make sure no dust or hair sneaks in
  • Wrap everything in our protective sleeves
  • Place it in strong packaging
  • And off it goes 🚚🍿

✨ The finish

Our frames have:

  • A slightly matte finish
  • With just a touch of shine

Once on the wall or on a shelf, it makes a real difference in a home. Because a poster isn’t just decoration.

It’s:

  • An atmosphere
  • A soul
  • Your personality on display

You’re not going to pick a generic, ugly frame everyone else has.

👉 Your home represents who you are.

And every day, when you walk past your poster, you’ll feel that little moment of satisfaction. You’ll see 😌
