POPCORN POSTER®

About this Hardware (1990) Poster

This isn't just any sci-fi poster. This is the visual declaration of a film so gloriously bizarre it makes other cyberpunk movies look like they ordered from IKEA. Richard Stanley's 1990 cult masterpiece gives you everything: post-apocalyptic wastelands, a robot that builds itself from your toaster, and Stacey Travis defending her apartment like it's the last stand of human dignity. Your wall deserves better than boring. Your wall deserves Hardware.

Get it before the M.A.R.K. 13 reassembles itself into your living room

The Perfect Gift Idea for Hardware (1990) Fans

Aluminum Frames: Because Wood is What Robots Build Themselves From

Let's be real: wood frames are basically the M.A.R.K. 13 of frame technology. They warp, they rot, they look like they came with your apartment in 1987. Aluminum frames, on the other hand? They're the future. Sleek. Unbreakable. Timeless. They make your Hardware poster look like it belongs in a gallery that actually respects sci-fi cinema. No warping. No splinters. No weird vibrations when the robot starts killing people. Aluminum frames keep your poster perfectly flat and facing forward, like a sentinel guarding your taste in movies. Available in black or silver because we understand subtlety. Your poster deserves a frame as uncompromising as the M.A.R.K. 13's mission.

Hardware (1990)

Thicker Than the M.A.R.K. 13's Murder Protocol

We're talking premium 240 g/m² glossy paper, baby. This isn't some flimsy printout that'll yellow faster than Mo's apartment gets invaded by killer androids. This is museum-grade stock that laughs in the face of time and neglect. Your Hardware poster arrives with colors so vibrant they'll make you swear the M.A.R.K. 13 is actually reassembling itself in your room. The blacks go deep like the government conspiracy that nobody saw coming. Whether you're mounting it above your bed or commanding it from your living room throne, this poster holds up like Jill held up against a self-repairing killing machine. Glossy finish means every angle catches light differently, giving you new details every time you glance at it. You're not buying paper. You're buying immortality.

🎬 Why this Hardware (1990) Poster is the Real Deal 🤩

Hardware (1990): The Cult Classic Your Wall Has Been Waiting For

Richard Stanley's Hardware isn't just a movie. It's a statement. Released in 1990, this cyberpunk nightmare has spent three decades building a devoted following of critics, filmmakers, and sci-fi obsessives who recognize pure cinematic vision when they see it. It's the kind of film that gets rediscovered, championed by film festivals, and cited as an influence by directors who understand that great science fiction doesn't need a massive budget-it needs guts, imagination, and a willingness to be genuinely unsettling.

The film centers on a self-repairing military android, the M.A.R.K. 13, programmed for population control and capable of reconstructing itself from any available materials. When ex-soldier Mo buys the android's head as a Christmas gift for his reclusive sculptor girlfriend Jill, he inadvertently brings home humanity's last stand against artificial intelligence. What unfolds is a masterclass in tension, practical effects, and body horror that influenced decades of sci-fi cinema to come.

Stacey Travis delivers a career-defining performance as Jill, a woman who must outthink a machine designed by the government to outsmart everything. Dylan McDermott's Mo becomes the reluctant hero who realizes too late that profit margins matter less than preventing robot-assisted genocide. The supporting cast, including a memorably obnoxious neighbor and an increasingly frantic junk dealer, creates a lived-in world that feels post-nuclear and genuinely desperate.

This poster captures Hardware at its visual peak: the collision of organic and mechanical, the claustrophobia of a small apartment containing infinite danger, and the aesthetic of retro-futurism that defined early 90s sci-fi cinema. Every frame screams production design brilliance. Every composition declares that this film cared about how it looked as much as what it was saying.

For thirty years, Hardware has maintained its reputation. Film critics celebrate its prescient themes about technology and dehumanization. Horror enthusiasts praise its creature design and practical effects. Collectors recognize it as essential 90s sci-fi. This poster isn't nostalgia-it's documentation of when practical effects and genuine dread still ruled cinema.

Own this poster and join the people who saw the future of sci-fi coming in 1990.

🍿 Why you need a Hardware (1990) poster on your wall 🤔

Listen: this poster proves something essential about your taste. It says you don't settle for Marvel multiplex noise. You saw Hardware when the world wasn't ready. You recognized genius when practical effects were still king and CGI was just a twinkle in Industrial Light and Magic's eye. You understood that a killer robot made from household items is somehow more terrifying than any big-budget spectacle.

This isn't decoration. This is a manifesto. Every visitor who sees this poster on your wall will know immediately: this person gets it. This person understands cinema history. This person appreciated Hardware before everyone else decided it was cool.

The thing about cult classics is they're investments in your own credibility. Thirty-six years later, Hardware still hits. Still resonates. Still makes people uncomfortable in the best way. Critics who initially dismissed it now acknowledge its prescience about technology and control. Filmmakers cite it as a direct influence. Collectors hunt for original materials.

But here's the real reason you need this poster: it's proof you were paying attention. While everyone else was watching mainstream sci-fi designed by committee, you were watching Richard Stanley create something genuinely dangerous, genuinely original, and genuinely beautiful in its commitment to practical terror. That takes courage. That takes taste. That deserves wall space.

This poster says you didn't wait for permission to love Hardware. You claimed it first. You saw the M.A.R.K. 13 reassemble itself and thought, "This is important." Now everyone knows you were right.

📼 Stop Scrolling 🤚 Own the Hardware (1990) Collector's Print: Geeky Specs & Shipping

You're not just buying a poster. You're acquiring a piece of Hardware (1990) history.

This isn't some thin, flimsy thing that yellows after a month. We're talking heavyweight 240 g/m² premium poster paper. Museum-grade quality. The kind of stock that galleries use when they actually care about longevity. Your Hardware poster will maintain its vibrancy for decades, resisting fading, warping, and the general disrespect that time throws at inferior materials.

The color reproduction is obsessive. Vibrant colors pop with the intensity of the M.A.R.K. 13's red optical sensors. Blacks go genuinely deep, capturing the post-apocalyptic shadows and the ominous darkness of government conspiracy. Every detail in the original composition translates perfectly-every gear, every threat, every moment of visual genius.

Glossy finish means light interaction changes the poster's presence throughout the day. Morning light reveals different details than evening light. This is intentional. This is how you create a poster that never becomes background noise on your wall.

Shipping Protection That Respects Your Investment:

A4 and A3 formats: Arrive perfectly flat in reinforced protective packaging. No curls. No rolls. No compromise. Ready to frame immediately or display as-is.

A2 and A1 formats: Carefully rolled in heavy-duty tubes engineered to protect maximum surface area during transit. Yes, we know rolling exists. We chose it strategically for these sizes because it prevents creasing and maintains structural integrity better than any alternative.

Every package is tracked. Every poster is inspected before shipping. You're not crossing your fingers hoping something arrives undamaged. You're receiving a collector's item that's been handled like the artifact it is. This is how institutions ship irreplaceable materials. This is how you should receive your Hardware (1990) poster.

🎞️ Framing the Genius: Hardware (1990)'s Visual Legacy

Richard Stanley's Visual Language:

Hardware operates in a visual dialect that most 1990 sci-fi couldn't access. Stanley doesn't use clean, optimistic futures. He uses decay, rust, radiation, and entropy. The cinematography embraces grain, shadow, and practical limitations as artistic choices rather than budget constraints. Every frame feels contaminated, dangerous, lived-in. This is how you create genuine dread through visual composition alone.

Color Theory & Atmospheric Dread:

The film's color palette is deliberately muted-grays, browns, industrial greens. Then the M.A.R.K. 13 arrives with its red optical sensors cutting through the monotone wasteland like a threat materialized. Stanley uses color contrast as pure visual threat. The Android isn't just dangerous mechanically. It's dangerous aesthetically. It doesn't belong in any environment it enters.

Production Design as Character:

Jill's apartment is a masterpiece of environmental storytelling. Her metal sculptures, her jury-rigged living space, her attempts to create beauty in a dying world-they're all communicated visually before dialogue explains anything. When the M.A.R.K. 13 begins reconstructing itself using her sculptures, the production design becomes the entire narrative. What the robot builds reveals what it is: pure destruction wearing artist's hands.

Practical Effects as Visual Truth:

In an era when CGI was emerging, Stanley doubled down on practical puppetry, mechanical effects, and genuine props. The M.A.R.K. 13 is physically present in every frame. You're watching something real kill people, even if that something is conceptually impossible. This creates visual authenticity that digital effects still struggle to achieve.

Composition & Claustrophobia:

Stanley frames most scenes to emphasize confined spaces. Tight hallways. Apartment rooms. Locked doors. The camera rarely pulls back for safety. This creates visual anxiety-you never feel like characters can escape. The walls themselves become hostile. Your poster captures this perfectly: beauty and confinement occupying the same visual space.

👀 Did You Know 🤯 Fun facts about Hardware (1990)

Iggy Pop's Mysterious Radio Presence:

The film opens with Iggy Pop as a radio DJ, his voice narrating the pre-film wasteland like some post-apocalyptic prophet. He's brilliant, unsettling, and then mostly disappears. Stanley included him to establish the film's universe, but also to give Hardware a seal of approval from actual rock and roll rebellion. Iggy Pop doesn't show up in mediocre films. He shows up when there's genuine artistic vision.

Inspired by 2000 AD Storytelling:

Hardware wasn't adapted from a major literary property or a previously released work. It was inspired by the visual storytelling language of 2000 AD, the legendary British comic magazine that birthed Judge Dredd and countless other genre innovations. Stanley brought that comic book sensibility-bold visuals, moral ambiguity, sci-fi without sentiment-directly to film. This explains why Hardware feels like it jumped directly from the page.

The M.A.R.K. 13 Biblical Reference:

Mo's Bible contains the phrase "No flesh shall be spared" under Mark 13:20. This isn't accidental. Stanley weaves biblical apocalypse language into a government conspiracy thriller, suggesting that the M.A.R.K. 13 isn't just a weapon-it's a force of judgment. The film treats technology as theology, extinction as policy. That kind of thematic ambition was genuinely rare in 1990 sci-fi.

Post-Release Recognition:

Hardware didn't immediately conquer the world. It built a cult following slowly, through word-of-mouth, festival screenings, and the kind of devotion that only genuine masterpieces inspire. For three decades, it's been getting rediscovered by new generations who recognize that it predicted our current anxieties about technology, autonomy, and government control. In 2026, Hardware doesn't feel dated. It feels prophetic.

Dylan McDermott's Commitment:

McDermott brought genuine emotional stakes to Mo, making him neither hero nor victim but something more complex-a man whose small gesture of affection accidentally unleashes apocalypse. This kind of nuanced characterization elevated Hardware beyond simple creature-feature status.

Iconic scene… but definitely not the delivery experience we want for your Hardware (1990) poster 😅

Great question and don’t worry, the answer won’t last as long as Titanic.

📦 All orders leave our warehouses within 24 hours after being placed. No waiting around like Tom Hanks in The Terminal.

🚚 Two delivery options with our partner UPS®:

  • Express delivery: 24–48 hours, depending on the destination country ( Faster than The Flash, no super suit required )

⚠️ Make sure to enter a valid email address and phone number at checkout — they’re essential to receive UPS® tracking updates at every step of the journey.

🌧️ Real-world disclaimer : Occasional delays can happen due to weather conditions, high shipping volumes or unexpected events. No need to panic, we usually start investigating after 7 business days (excluding weekends).

🚀 Why UPS®?
Because it’s simply the fastest international carrier, with one of the best delivery services in the world. We’d rather invest in reliability than turn your delivery into a Mission: Impossible scenario.

💸 We cover a large part of the shipping costs, because our goal is simple: to offer you the best delivery service possible, wherever you are in the world, no compromises.

Bottom line: your poster arrives fast, fully tracked, and without any Indiana Jones level adventures.

📍 Can I track my order ?

Yes. And not just “kind of” 😌 As soon as your order leaves our warehouse, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with a UPS® tracking link.

📦 With UPS®, you can track your poster in real time, step by step, almost like Nick Fury monitoring his agents.

📲 For tracking to work perfectly, it’s very important to double-check all your details before placing your order:

  • Complete and correct delivery address (This happens every day: missing house number, wrong country selected, incomplete street name…)
  • Valid and accessible email address
  • Correct phone number

🎬 Let’s be honest:
All we want is for your package with your awesome new poster to arrive as fast as possible, and in perfect condition.

A quick check now saves you from needing a Back to the Future-style time travel to fix a wrong address.

📧 One more important thing about email:
Please don’t use a throwaway or inaccessible email address. We won’t spam you (we’re not Skynet), but:

  • UPS® pickup codes are sent by email
  • Delivery notifications too

Without access to your inbox, there’s unfortunately nothing we can do, and your package may vanish forever, like a lost VHS tape from the 90s.

🎥 In short:
You know where your package is, when it arrives, and how to collect it, no need to play Sherlock Holmes or watch the street like Walter White behind the curtains.

🔄 What if I want to return my poster ?

We get it, even Citizen Kane didn’t please everyone.

🎨 Custom posters

Custom posters are non-returnable and non-refundable. They’re printed specifically for you, like a James Bond–tailored suit: once it’s made, it’s yours.

📦 Non-custom posters

For non-custom posters, please refer to our detailed return policy at the bottom of the page, under “Delivery Issues”. This section clearly explains return, refund, and resolution conditions.

🚚 Delivery issues (delay, lost or damaged package) If:

  • Your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated timeframe
  • Your package is lost
  • Your poster arrives damaged

👉 contact us at hello@popcornposter.com. We’ll immediately work with the carrier (UPS®) to resolve the issue.

📅 Please note:
The carrier has a formal process and timeline to declare a package as lost, 15 days after the estimated delivery date. Before that, the package is officially still “in transit”.

⏳ Delivery delays & right to a refund

The right to a refund for delivery delays only applies if the delay is not caused by force majeure or circumstances beyond the seller’s control (weather conditions, strikes, exceptional events, etc.).

According to European Directive 2011/83/EU:

  • If no fixed delivery time is specified (only an estimate),
  • The seller must deliver the order within a reasonable timeframe, typically up to 30 days from the order confirmation

If this timeframe is exceeded, the seller is granted an additional one-week period to complete the delivery.

🎬 In short:
We never leave customers without support, but we also believe in solving things calmly, without a failed-season-finale level of drama.

Orders & Payments

Orders, payments & behind-the-scenes details (The part people skip… but shouldn’t)

💳 What payment methods do you accept ?

We keep it simple and secure 🔒

We accept:

  • Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are 100% secure. Even Bruce Wayne would approve this checkout.

✏️ Can I change or cancel my order ?

Yes… and we’ve even built in a little flexibility 😌

👉 After payment, you have a 30-minute window to contact us if you’d like to:

  • Change the poster size
  • Switch the frame color
  • Upgrade from unframed to framed

Because sometimes you realize after checkout that the black frame would look way better and that’s totally fine.

⏱️ After this 30-minute window, your order enters production. At that point, changes are no longer possible, kind of like trying to rewrite a movie after the end credits.

🖼️ Good to know about delivery:

  • Framed posters arrive fully framed, ready to hang
  • Unframed posters are carefully protected in a plastic protective film
  • A4 and A3 unframed posters are shipped flat, not rolled, to prevent any deformation and ensure a perfect finish right out of the package

Our goal is simple:

to make sure your poster arrives fast, well-protected, and exactly how you imagined it, no bad surprises.

🧾 Will I receive an order confirmation and invoice ?

Absolutely 😌

After placing your order, you’ll receive:

  • An order confirmation email
  • An invoice with all details

If you don’t see it, check your spam folder (sometimes emails disappear like mail at Hogwarts).

Need a custom invoice? Just contact us.

💥 My order arrived damaged, what should I do ?

First: breathe 😌
Yes, it can happen. Even with the best carrier in the world, a delivery driver can have a bad day, be in a rush, or your package can go through a real adventure during transit.

👉 The good news:
Since working with UPS®, damaged packages are very rare.
Trust us… you don’t want to know how many emails we used to get with our previous carriers 😅

That problem is now solved thanks to:

  • Stronger protection
  • Better packaging
  • Much more reliable delivery

But let’s be real :
Packages travel for several days. They can fall, be stacked, sometimes crushed… Honestly, we should put a GoPro inside a package to see what it goes through 🎥📦

🚚 When we hand packages over to UPS®, everything is perfect :

Paolo, our UPS® driver, comes by every day with a smile, packages leave well protected and damage-free. After that… they go on their journey.

👉 If you’re part of the 1% of cases where a package arrives damaged :

It’s not a big deal. it’s annoying (we agree), and trust me:

👉 if I ordered something and received it damaged, I’d be annoyed too.

Here’s what to do calmly 👇

  1. Take a photo of the package
  2. Take a photo of the poster
  3. Email us at hello@popcornposter.com

(with your order number, ex. #1001)

📩 Important - Customer support :
Our customer service is handled exclusively by email.

🙅‍♂️ Not via Instagram

🙅‍♂️ Not via TikTok

🙅‍♂️ And unfortunately… not by owls either ⚡🦉

Why ? Because email allows us to :

  • Properly track your case
  • Keep all information in one place
  • Respond quickly and efficiently

📬 Marion checks emails every single day and replies to everyone.

If we have all the required info, within 24 hours, we’ll find a solution together, fast, and one that works for you.

🙏 Friendly advice :

  • Please avoid ALL CAPS emails
  • Avoid aggressive or entitled tones

Otherwise Marion gets angry… and I have to deal with her being angry all day 😡😅

Nobody wins.

If Marion solved your issue (and trust us, she really solves them all), please consider leaving a Trustpilot review mentioning her name: Marion isn’t ChatGPT, she reads every review, and she’ll absolutely love seeing her name mentioned with positive feedback 👀😇

🎬 Bottom line :

We ship dozens of packages every day, we do everything we can to make sure everything arrives perfectly, and when something goes wrong, we own it and fix it.

Simple, human, efficient. 🫶

❓ I haven’t received my order, what should I do?

First things first, something very important 👇 (No panic, this isn’t an episode of Lost.)

👉 Make sure you entered complete and accurate contact details when placing your order:

  • Correct delivery address
  • Valid email address
  • Phone number

Without this information, even the best carrier in the world can’t work miracles.

📦 All orders are tracked via UPS®, and the tracking is (truly) extremely precise.

🎬 A quick look at your package’s journey:

  • As soon as we create your shipping label and attach it to the package → Bam, email
  • Every day around 12 PM, Paolo, our awesome UPS® driver, comes by to collect the parcels
  • Before your package even enters his super truck, Paolo scans each parcel one by oneBam, email
  • When he drops your package at the UPS® logistics hub for proper routing → Quick scan, Bam email

👉 Result: you receive an email at every single movement of your package. Your poster is tracked more closely than a main character in a TV series.

🖨️ Important note for custom posters:

Custom posters may require up to 24 additional hours of processing, depending on demand. Why ?

Because this one isn’t in stock, we create it ourselves, specifically for you. Nothing to worry about, it may just take a little longer, and that’s completely normal.

Now, real-world shipping reality :

Delays can happen (weather conditions, logistics issues, unexpected events). It’s not common, but it happens.

👉 We only really start worrying after 7 business days (excluding weekends).

If that timeframe is exceeded, contact us and we’ll immediately open an investigation with UPS®.

🎬 Bottom line:
We never leave a customer without a solution, but we also avoid jumping to conclusions like a Netflix thriller after 10 minutes.

If you’re really worried about where your order might be hiding, send us an email at hello@popcornposter.com and Marion will take care of the investigation with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Machine 🕵️‍♂️🚐🍿

About Our Products

This is where we answer all the questions your brain asks while staring at a poster thinking : “Okay… but is it really that cool in real life?” Spoiler: it is.

🍿 What kind of posters do you sell ?

At Popcorn Poster, we don’t do “a bit of home decor.” We do cinema. A lot of cinema. Probably too much cinema. 🎬🍿

More specifically, our catalog includes thousands of movie and TV series posters, in multiple languages, sourced from cinemas all around the world.

Yes ! we’re talking about one of the largest movie poster catalogs in the world. And no, we’re not just saying that for fun (okay… maybe a little).

You’ll find posters from:

  • 🎥 cult movies you can quote by heart
  • 🏛️ timeless classics you deeply respect
  • 🚀 recent films that blew your mind
  • 📺 iconic TV series you binge-watched “just one episode”… until sunrise

And most importantly : 👉 in multiple languages, because cinema has never spoken just one.

🎞️ Where do our posters come from?

Our posters can be:

  • Original cinema posters, used in theaters around the world
  • Or high-quality reprints, when the original isn’t available in the size you choose

Either way, we’re obsessive about quality, so the final result looks amazing on your wall, not just accurate on paper.

🎬 What if I can’t find the movie or series of my dreams?

That’s exactly why we created CHOOSE YOUR MOVIE 🕶️ If you can’t find what you’re looking for :

  1. Simply type the movie or TV show name
  2. Choose the size
  3. And we take care of the rest

👉 No endless searching

👉 No comparing random websites

👉 No DIY headaches

You choose.

We print.

You receive your poster.

🎥 In short:

Popcorn Poster means:

  • A massive catalog
  • Worldwide cinema
  • Thousands of references
  • And the certainty that even if you don’t see it right away…

    👉 your movie exists here.
🖨️ Is the print quality actually that good ?

Let’s be honest right from the start :

👉 these are probably the worst posters of all time. Blurry, poorly printed, dull colors… Basically, the kind of quality you’d expect from a movie filmed on a phone in the back row of a cinema in 2004.

Okay, obviously not 😄 If that were true, we’d be selling bootleg DVDs in a parking lot.

🎬 Let’s get serious (but not too serious)

Our posters are designed to last, not just look good in an Instagram story.

🖨️ For reprinted posters (when the original isn’t available in your chosen size) :

  • We use eco-friendly, long-lasting, high-quality inks
  • Resistant to time and light
  • To avoid the “yellowing poster after a few months” effect

📄 The paper:

  • 240g museum-grade paper
  • Thick, premium feel
  • Elegant matte finish

Definitely not thin paper that wrinkles if you breathe near it.

🖼️ The frames:

  • Made of aluminum
  • Lightweight once on the wall
  • Won’t warp
  • Won’t lose color over time
  • Impressive lifespan

The kind of frame you hang, forget about, and still looks perfect years later.

🎞️ One important (and honest) thing to know

As you might expect :

👉 The older the movie, the more the print quality depends on the original source.

A movie poster from the 1970s:

  • Won’t always look ultra-sharp 4K
  • And that’s completely normal

It’s like watching The Godfather: Not Dolby Vision 2025, but that’s exactly part of its charm.

🎬 Bottom line:

Our posters are:

  • Carefully printed
  • Made with premium materials
  • Designed to last
  • And respectful of cinema history

Not a tired VHS, not fake overhyped 4K, but an honest, cinematic result, as it should be.

🖼️ Are the frames high quality ?

Let’s start with the truth: 👉 of course not.
We love wasting time, money, and energy selling terrible frames.

Okay, obviously no 😄 If that were the case, we’d do what everyone else does: cheap, fragile frames and “good luck assembling it yourself.”

🎬 A true story

At first, we used wooden frames. On paper, they looked nice. In real life? Not so much.

👉 Once on the wall, they warped over time.

👉 And during shipping… they could literally break apart.

So we made a simple decision:

🛑 stop using wood

✅ switch to aluminum

🖼️ Why aluminum?

Because:

  • It’s lightweight (no Final Destination moment for your wall)
  • It doesn’t warp
  • It doesn’t yellow
  • It keeps its color for years
  • And has an impressive lifespan

🎬 In short:

frames built to last longer than most movie trilogies.

🛠️ And most importantly… no IKEA-style assembly

When you order a framed poster from Popcorn Poster,

👉 it arrives already framed, ready to hang.

Not like:

  • Some poster sellers
  • Or an IKEA piece you assemble on a Sunday night with one screw left over

We do the work for you.

🎨 What we actually do (and yes, it takes time)

  • We select the frame (black, chrome, white…)
  • Carefully place the poster inside
  • Make sure no dust or hair sneaks in
  • Wrap everything in our protective sleeves
  • Place it in strong packaging
  • And off it goes 🚚🍿

✨ The finish

Our frames have:

  • A slightly matte finish
  • With just a touch of shine

Once on the wall or on a shelf, it makes a real difference in a home. Because a poster isn’t just decoration.

It’s:

  • An atmosphere
  • A soul
  • Your personality on display

You’re not going to pick a generic, ugly frame everyone else has.

👉 Your home represents who you are.

And every day, when you walk past your poster, you’ll feel that little moment of satisfaction. You’ll see 😌
