Wood Frames? More Like Would-Not Frames, Losers

Wood frames? Pfft, those splintery relics belong in grandma's attic with her dusty regrets. Warping like Tonio's paralyzed panic? Yellowing faster than Luna's Alzheimer haze? Hard pass. Enter aluminium: sleek, savage, and stupidly strong. Lightweight as Jack's pickup lines but unbreakable like their love-hate bond. No rust, no rot, just pure, sexy shine that elevates your poster to gallery god status. Mount this Alive and Kicking beauty on aluminium and boom: instant heirloom. Ditch the tree-murdering trash; go metal or go home broke and basic.

Alive And Kicking (1996)

Thicker Than Jack's Cynical Hide: Tonio-Worthy Paper

Listen up, poster peasants: this bad boy is printed on 240 g/m² glossy paper, denser than Jack's barrel-chested wisdom and tougher than Tonio's HIV-fueled ego. No flimsy drugstore dreck here. This heavyweight beast flexes vibrant colors that scream 'I'm alive and kicking your boring walls!' Deep blacks deeper than Ramon's funeral blues, whites whiter than Millie's straight-acting fail. It's museum-grade, baby, so your walls get the five-star treatment. Smudge-proof, fade-resistant, ready to outlast your next breakup. Slap it up and watch guests drool over the premium punch. Tonio would approve; Jack might grumble, but we all know who's really in charge.

🎬 Why this Alive and Kicking (1996) Poster is the Real Deal ? 🤩

Picture this: 1996, the world’s still reeling from AIDS chaos, and along twirls Alive and Kicking, the cult flick that pirouettes past the gloom with guts, laughs, and a love story hotter than a rehearsal sweat-fest. Directed by Nancy Meckler, scripted by Martin Sherman, starring Jason Flemyng as Tonio - the psycho-bitch dancer in a Psycho Bitch tee - this gem was US-titled to dodge a comedy clash, dropping as Indian Summer in the UK. Reviews? Rotten Tomatoes calls it a 'tender, funny and passionate love story of a gay dancer living positively with AIDS.' Austin Chronicle raves about its urgency, Flemyng’s driven brilliance, Antony Sher’s cocky therapist stealing scenes. Letterboxd geeks swoon over the raw romance between opposites: flamboyant Tonio pushing his body to breaking for the ballet Indian Summer, versus boozy, self-destructive Jack who woos him anyway.

Hype’s building now - Bill Nighy’s sly cameo, Diane Parish as wise-cracking lesbian pal Millie, Dorothy Tutin’s foggy choreographer. It’s no chocolate-box rom-com; it’s tough-minded, tackling insecurities, hospital vigils (that Bill Nighy line: 'we’ve done this before' - chills!), and a finale dance that crushes souls. Critics praise the authenticity: Tonio skipping meds to nail Ramon’s role post his lover’s death, Greece holidays straining bonds, paralysis plot twist turning triumph. Time Out notes Ballet Luna decimated by AIDS, Tonio as its last light. Peter Salem’s score? Haunting. Nancy Meckler’s direction? Woman-power precision, one of 52 films by women that year per Letterboxd.

Why a future classic? It’s the anti-tragedy: humor amid horror, love overriding death’s shadow. Flemyng’s intensity, Sher’s versatility - pure fire. Park Circus repping it means revival buzz. In 2026, as queer cinema gets its flowers, this sleeper’s waking up. Reviews gush: emotionally engaging, beautifully acted, scored to perfection. That Tonio-Millie 'straight' hookup attempt? Comedy gold. Final dance? Heart-wrecker. This poster? Your ticket to owning the vibe before Netflix slaps it on everyone. Vibrant, iconic imagery of Tonio’s leap screams defiance. Hang it, flex your tastemaker status. Cult status incoming - don’t sleep, or Tonio’s ghost will judge your blank walls.

From London Film Festival premiere to hidden gem, it’s the flick that proves art and love kick harder than fate. Reviews unite: stunning, honest, touching. Secure this print; it’s not just decor, it’s prophecy fulfilled.

🍿 Why you need a Alive and Kicking (1996) poster on your wall ? 🤔

This poster proves you saw it first. While normies scroll TikTok for the next big thing, you’re walls-deep in Alive and Kicking (1996) glory - the cult queer ballet bomb that’s primed to explode. Tonio’s fierce glare mid-pirouette? That’s your daily reminder to dance through life’s crap, HIV be damned. Jason Flemyng owns it, Antony Sher matches his fire, and suddenly your living room’s the hippest spot in town.

Persuasion station: critics called it tender yet tough, funny amid funerals. Austin Chronicle: burns with death-inspired urgency. Letterboxd: honest love affair, insecurities explored raw. You hang this, guests gawk - 'What’s that?' - boom, you’re the oracle dropping plot bombs about Tonio ditching meds for dance perfection, Jack’s relentless pursuit, that paralytic twist flipping to triumph. It’s not wallpaper; it’s a conversation starter sharper than Millie’s wit.

Sarcasm alert: blank walls are for quitters who let exes win. This glossy beast screams 'I get the deep cuts.' Future classic vibes - Bill Nighy, Nancy Meckler’s edge - you’re ahead of the curve. Own the hype before it’s mainstream. Tonio fought for his spotlight; fight for yours. This poster’s your trophy: proof you savor the real, laugh at the dark, love the unlikely. Slap it up, smirk at the squares. Your wall demands it - or admit defeat to beige boredom. Get it, geek out, gloat forever.

📼 Stop Scrolling 🤚 Own the Alive and Kicking (1996) Collector’s Print: Geeky Specs & Shipping

Ditch the doomscroll, cult hunter - this Alive and Kicking (1996) poster is your new obsession, specced like Tonio’s death-defying leaps. Heavyweight 240 g/m² premium poster paper hits like Jack’s cynical gut-punches: thick, unyielding, elite. Museum High Quality means vibrant colors that pop brighter than Flemyng’s sweat-glistened abs, deep blacks darker than Ramon’s bedside vigil. You’re not just buying a poster; you’re acquiring a piece of Alive and Kicking (1996) history - that iconic Tonio image, frozen in defiant glory.

Shipping? Bulletproof. A4 and A3 formats arrive perfectly flat in reinforced protective packaging (no curls, no rolls - unlike Tonio’s pre-paralysis freakouts). Larger A2 and A1? Carefully rolled in heavy-duty tubes for maximum protection during transit. Zero damage, all drama saved for the wall. Every size ready to be framed instantly - no fiddly prep, just pure hang-time bliss.

Why obsess? This isn’t flimsy flea-market fodder. 240 g/m² glossy flexes fade-resistance to outlast your Netflix queue. Colors stay savage: Tonio’s fiery reds, Jack’s moody shadows, Ballet Luna’s faded elegance. Museum-grade sheen turns your pad into a private screening room. Picture it: guests jaw-dropped, begging for the lore. Shipping’s global-guerilla: tracked, insured, arriving pristine whether you’re in London or LA. A4 for desks, A1 for ego walls - all formats flawless.

Geek specs seal it: acid-free paper laughs at time, glossy finish amplifies every detail from Flemyng’s smirk to background blur. You’re investing in legacy, not landfill. Tonio kicked fate; this print kicks bland. Secure yours - flat, rolled, or framed-ready - and level up. No curls, no excuses, just collector cred delivered.

🎞️ Framing the Genius: Alive and Kicking (1996)’s Visual Legacy

Alive and Kicking (1996) doesn’t just dance; it dazzles with cinematography that’s as bold as Tonio’s ego. Nancy Meckler crafts a visual language blending gritty London realism with ballet’s ethereal grace - think sweat-soaked studios clashing against Greek sun-drenched escapes. Camera lingers on Flemyng’s lithe form in tight shots, muscles rippling like warnings of his ticking clock, then pulls back for wide-stage spectacles where dancers swarm like ghosts of the AIDS-ravaged company.

Color theory? Masterclass in tension. Cool blues and grays haunt hospital scenes and Jack’s boozy cynicism, pierced by Tonio’s fiery oranges and reds - passion defying decay. Finale’s Indian Summer ballet explodes in warm golds, symbolizing life’s kickback. Shadows play deep, blacks swallowing despair, while highlights flare on sweat beads, making every pirouette pulse with urgency.

Art direction nails the era’s edge: cluttered rehearsal halls piled with props like forgotten dreams, Ramon’s sterile deathbed stark against vibrant club nights. Iconic imagery owns it - Tonio’s Psycho Bitch tee screaming narcissism, Jack’s barrel-chest filling frames with reluctant tenderness. Dorothy Tutin’s foggy Luna evokes faded glory in soft-focus pastels. Bill Nighy’s sly glances add cheeky pops amid the pathos.

Cinematography by Peter Sroufe? Intimate handheld for raw emotion, steady for dance triumphs. Visuals mirror the script’s humor-darkness dance: comical Millie-Tonio hookups in neon club glows, paralytic horror in harsh whites. It’s a legacy of defiance - colors kicking against fade-out, framing love’s messy win. This poster distills it: Tonio’s leap, a visual gut-punch ensuring the film’s style lives on your wall, eternal.

🎬 Quick movie reference: In Cast Away, Tom Hanks survives on a deserted island thanks to a lost FedEx package.

Iconic scene… but definitely not the delivery experience we want for your Alive And Kicking (1996) poster 😅

Great question and don’t worry, the answer won’t last as long as Titanic.

📦 All orders leave our warehouses within 24 hours after being placed. No waiting around like Tom Hanks in The Terminal.

🚚 Two delivery options with our partner UPS®:

  • Express delivery: 24–48 hours, depending on the destination country ( Faster than The Flash, no super suit required )

⚠️ Make sure to enter a valid email address and phone number at checkout — they’re essential to receive UPS® tracking updates at every step of the journey.

🌧️ Real-world disclaimer : Occasional delays can happen due to weather conditions, high shipping volumes or unexpected events. No need to panic, we usually start investigating after 7 business days (excluding weekends).

🚀 Why UPS®?
Because it’s simply the fastest international carrier, with one of the best delivery services in the world. We’d rather invest in reliability than turn your delivery into a Mission: Impossible scenario.

💸 We cover a large part of the shipping costs, because our goal is simple: to offer you the best delivery service possible, wherever you are in the world, no compromises.

Bottom line: your poster arrives fast, fully tracked, and without any Indiana Jones level adventures.

📍 Can I track my order ?

Yes. And not just “kind of” 😌 As soon as your order leaves our warehouse, you’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with a UPS® tracking link.

📦 With UPS®, you can track your poster in real time, step by step, almost like Nick Fury monitoring his agents.

📲 For tracking to work perfectly, it’s very important to double-check all your details before placing your order:

  • Complete and correct delivery address (This happens every day: missing house number, wrong country selected, incomplete street name…)
  • Valid and accessible email address
  • Correct phone number

🎬 Let’s be honest:
All we want is for your package with your awesome new poster to arrive as fast as possible, and in perfect condition.

A quick check now saves you from needing a Back to the Future-style time travel to fix a wrong address.

📧 One more important thing about email:
Please don’t use a throwaway or inaccessible email address. We won’t spam you (we’re not Skynet), but:

  • UPS® pickup codes are sent by email
  • Delivery notifications too

Without access to your inbox, there’s unfortunately nothing we can do, and your package may vanish forever, like a lost VHS tape from the 90s.

🎥 In short:
You know where your package is, when it arrives, and how to collect it, no need to play Sherlock Holmes or watch the street like Walter White behind the curtains.

🔄 What if I want to return my poster ?

We get it, even Citizen Kane didn’t please everyone.

🎨 Custom posters

Custom posters are non-returnable and non-refundable. They’re printed specifically for you, like a James Bond–tailored suit: once it’s made, it’s yours.

📦 Non-custom posters

For non-custom posters, please refer to our detailed return policy at the bottom of the page, under “Delivery Issues”. This section clearly explains return, refund, and resolution conditions.

🚚 Delivery issues (delay, lost or damaged package) If:

  • Your order hasn’t arrived within the estimated timeframe
  • Your package is lost
  • Your poster arrives damaged

👉 contact us at hello@popcornposter.com. We’ll immediately work with the carrier (UPS®) to resolve the issue.

📅 Please note:
The carrier has a formal process and timeline to declare a package as lost, 15 days after the estimated delivery date. Before that, the package is officially still “in transit”.

⏳ Delivery delays & right to a refund

The right to a refund for delivery delays only applies if the delay is not caused by force majeure or circumstances beyond the seller’s control (weather conditions, strikes, exceptional events, etc.).

According to European Directive 2011/83/EU:

  • If no fixed delivery time is specified (only an estimate),
  • The seller must deliver the order within a reasonable timeframe, typically up to 30 days from the order confirmation

If this timeframe is exceeded, the seller is granted an additional one-week period to complete the delivery.

🎬 In short:
We never leave customers without support, but we also believe in solving things calmly, without a failed-season-finale level of drama.

Orders & Payments

Orders, payments & behind-the-scenes details (The part people skip… but shouldn’t)

💳 What payment methods do you accept ?

We keep it simple and secure 🔒

We accept:

  • Credit & debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay
  • Google Pay

All payments are 100% secure. Even Bruce Wayne would approve this checkout.

✏️ Can I change or cancel my order ?

Yes… and we’ve even built in a little flexibility 😌

👉 After payment, you have a 30-minute window to contact us if you’d like to:

  • Change the poster size
  • Switch the frame color
  • Upgrade from unframed to framed

Because sometimes you realize after checkout that the black frame would look way better and that’s totally fine.

⏱️ After this 30-minute window, your order enters production. At that point, changes are no longer possible, kind of like trying to rewrite a movie after the end credits.

🖼️ Good to know about delivery:

  • Framed posters arrive fully framed, ready to hang
  • Unframed posters are carefully protected in a plastic protective film
  • A4 and A3 unframed posters are shipped flat, not rolled, to prevent any deformation and ensure a perfect finish right out of the package

Our goal is simple:

to make sure your poster arrives fast, well-protected, and exactly how you imagined it, no bad surprises.

🧾 Will I receive an order confirmation and invoice ?

Absolutely 😌

After placing your order, you’ll receive:

  • An order confirmation email
  • An invoice with all details

If you don’t see it, check your spam folder (sometimes emails disappear like mail at Hogwarts).

Need a custom invoice? Just contact us.

💥 My order arrived damaged, what should I do ?

First: breathe 😌
Yes, it can happen. Even with the best carrier in the world, a delivery driver can have a bad day, be in a rush, or your package can go through a real adventure during transit.

👉 The good news:
Since working with UPS®, damaged packages are very rare.
Trust us… you don’t want to know how many emails we used to get with our previous carriers 😅

That problem is now solved thanks to:

  • Stronger protection
  • Better packaging
  • Much more reliable delivery

But let’s be real :
Packages travel for several days. They can fall, be stacked, sometimes crushed… Honestly, we should put a GoPro inside a package to see what it goes through 🎥📦

🚚 When we hand packages over to UPS®, everything is perfect :

Paolo, our UPS® driver, comes by every day with a smile, packages leave well protected and damage-free. After that… they go on their journey.

👉 If you’re part of the 1% of cases where a package arrives damaged :

It’s not a big deal. it’s annoying (we agree), and trust me:

👉 if I ordered something and received it damaged, I’d be annoyed too.

Here’s what to do calmly 👇

  1. Take a photo of the package
  2. Take a photo of the poster
  3. Email us at hello@popcornposter.com

(with your order number, ex. #1001)

📩 Important - Customer support :
Our customer service is handled exclusively by email.

🙅‍♂️ Not via Instagram

🙅‍♂️ Not via TikTok

🙅‍♂️ And unfortunately… not by owls either ⚡🦉

Why ? Because email allows us to :

  • Properly track your case
  • Keep all information in one place
  • Respond quickly and efficiently

📬 Marion checks emails every single day and replies to everyone.

If we have all the required info, within 24 hours, we’ll find a solution together, fast, and one that works for you.

🙏 Friendly advice :

  • Please avoid ALL CAPS emails
  • Avoid aggressive or entitled tones

Otherwise Marion gets angry… and I have to deal with her being angry all day 😡😅

Nobody wins.

If Marion solved your issue (and trust us, she really solves them all), please consider leaving a Trustpilot review mentioning her name: Marion isn’t ChatGPT, she reads every review, and she’ll absolutely love seeing her name mentioned with positive feedback 👀😇

🎬 Bottom line :

We ship dozens of packages every day, we do everything we can to make sure everything arrives perfectly, and when something goes wrong, we own it and fix it.

Simple, human, efficient. 🫶

❓ I haven’t received my order, what should I do?

First things first, something very important 👇 (No panic, this isn’t an episode of Lost.)

👉 Make sure you entered complete and accurate contact details when placing your order:

  • Correct delivery address
  • Valid email address
  • Phone number

Without this information, even the best carrier in the world can’t work miracles.

📦 All orders are tracked via UPS®, and the tracking is (truly) extremely precise.

🎬 A quick look at your package’s journey:

  • As soon as we create your shipping label and attach it to the package → Bam, email
  • Every day around 12 PM, Paolo, our awesome UPS® driver, comes by to collect the parcels
  • Before your package even enters his super truck, Paolo scans each parcel one by oneBam, email
  • When he drops your package at the UPS® logistics hub for proper routing → Quick scan, Bam email

👉 Result: you receive an email at every single movement of your package. Your poster is tracked more closely than a main character in a TV series.

🖨️ Important note for custom posters:

Custom posters may require up to 24 additional hours of processing, depending on demand. Why ?

Because this one isn’t in stock, we create it ourselves, specifically for you. Nothing to worry about, it may just take a little longer, and that’s completely normal.

Now, real-world shipping reality :

Delays can happen (weather conditions, logistics issues, unexpected events). It’s not common, but it happens.

👉 We only really start worrying after 7 business days (excluding weekends).

If that timeframe is exceeded, contact us and we’ll immediately open an investigation with UPS®.

🎬 Bottom line:
We never leave a customer without a solution, but we also avoid jumping to conclusions like a Netflix thriller after 10 minutes.

If you’re really worried about where your order might be hiding, send us an email at hello@popcornposter.com and Marion will take care of the investigation with Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Machine 🕵️‍♂️🚐🍿

About Our Products

This is where we answer all the questions your brain asks while staring at a poster thinking : “Okay… but is it really that cool in real life?” Spoiler: it is.

🍿 What kind of posters do you sell ?

At Popcorn Poster, we don’t do “a bit of home decor.” We do cinema. A lot of cinema. Probably too much cinema. 🎬🍿

More specifically, our catalog includes thousands of movie and TV series posters, in multiple languages, sourced from cinemas all around the world.

Yes ! we’re talking about one of the largest movie poster catalogs in the world. And no, we’re not just saying that for fun (okay… maybe a little).

You’ll find posters from:

  • 🎥 cult movies you can quote by heart
  • 🏛️ timeless classics you deeply respect
  • 🚀 recent films that blew your mind
  • 📺 iconic TV series you binge-watched “just one episode”… until sunrise

And most importantly : 👉 in multiple languages, because cinema has never spoken just one.

🎞️ Where do our posters come from?

Our posters can be:

  • Original cinema posters, used in theaters around the world
  • Or high-quality reprints, when the original isn’t available in the size you choose

Either way, we’re obsessive about quality, so the final result looks amazing on your wall, not just accurate on paper.

🎬 What if I can’t find the movie or series of my dreams?

That’s exactly why we created CHOOSE YOUR MOVIE 🕶️ If you can’t find what you’re looking for :

  1. Simply type the movie or TV show name
  2. Choose the size
  3. And we take care of the rest

👉 No endless searching

👉 No comparing random websites

👉 No DIY headaches

You choose.

We print.

You receive your poster.

🎥 In short:

Popcorn Poster means:

  • A massive catalog
  • Worldwide cinema
  • Thousands of references
  • And the certainty that even if you don’t see it right away…

    👉 your movie exists here.
🖨️ Is the print quality actually that good ?

Let’s be honest right from the start :

👉 these are probably the worst posters of all time. Blurry, poorly printed, dull colors… Basically, the kind of quality you’d expect from a movie filmed on a phone in the back row of a cinema in 2004.

Okay, obviously not 😄 If that were true, we’d be selling bootleg DVDs in a parking lot.

🎬 Let’s get serious (but not too serious)

Our posters are designed to last, not just look good in an Instagram story.

🖨️ For reprinted posters (when the original isn’t available in your chosen size) :

  • We use eco-friendly, long-lasting, high-quality inks
  • Resistant to time and light
  • To avoid the “yellowing poster after a few months” effect

📄 The paper:

  • 240g museum-grade paper
  • Thick, premium feel
  • Elegant matte finish

Definitely not thin paper that wrinkles if you breathe near it.

🖼️ The frames:

  • Made of aluminum
  • Lightweight once on the wall
  • Won’t warp
  • Won’t lose color over time
  • Impressive lifespan

The kind of frame you hang, forget about, and still looks perfect years later.

🎞️ One important (and honest) thing to know

As you might expect :

👉 The older the movie, the more the print quality depends on the original source.

A movie poster from the 1970s:

  • Won’t always look ultra-sharp 4K
  • And that’s completely normal

It’s like watching The Godfather: Not Dolby Vision 2025, but that’s exactly part of its charm.

🎬 Bottom line:

Our posters are:

  • Carefully printed
  • Made with premium materials
  • Designed to last
  • And respectful of cinema history

Not a tired VHS, not fake overhyped 4K, but an honest, cinematic result, as it should be.

🖼️ Are the frames high quality ?

Let’s start with the truth: 👉 of course not.
We love wasting time, money, and energy selling terrible frames.

Okay, obviously no 😄 If that were the case, we’d do what everyone else does: cheap, fragile frames and “good luck assembling it yourself.”

🎬 A true story

At first, we used wooden frames. On paper, they looked nice. In real life? Not so much.

👉 Once on the wall, they warped over time.

👉 And during shipping… they could literally break apart.

So we made a simple decision:

🛑 stop using wood

✅ switch to aluminum

🖼️ Why aluminum?

Because:

  • It’s lightweight (no Final Destination moment for your wall)
  • It doesn’t warp
  • It doesn’t yellow
  • It keeps its color for years
  • And has an impressive lifespan

🎬 In short:

frames built to last longer than most movie trilogies.

🛠️ And most importantly… no IKEA-style assembly

When you order a framed poster from Popcorn Poster,

👉 it arrives already framed, ready to hang.

Not like:

  • Some poster sellers
  • Or an IKEA piece you assemble on a Sunday night with one screw left over

We do the work for you.

🎨 What we actually do (and yes, it takes time)

  • We select the frame (black, chrome, white…)
  • Carefully place the poster inside
  • Make sure no dust or hair sneaks in
  • Wrap everything in our protective sleeves
  • Place it in strong packaging
  • And off it goes 🚚🍿

✨ The finish

Our frames have:

  • A slightly matte finish
  • With just a touch of shine

Once on the wall or on a shelf, it makes a real difference in a home. Because a poster isn’t just decoration.

It’s:

  • An atmosphere
  • A soul
  • Your personality on display

You’re not going to pick a generic, ugly frame everyone else has.

👉 Your home represents who you are.

And every day, when you walk past your poster, you’ll feel that little moment of satisfaction. You’ll see 😌
